This meeting and the amendments (proposed and supported by the Biden administration) have been quiet and secretive. If the US wants to make any headway in climate change we need to follow the EU in banning all these toxic chemicals. Glyphosate (Roundup) is banned in most countries but not the US and is sprayed on many crops and GMO plants are made to be be resistant to it, but not humans, it is polluting our food supply. Why is it that many chemicals used as food additives and spraying of crops are banned in most countries but not the US? Follow the money always follow the money. Today, a new paper was published that provided further evidence that there is no such thing as light-to-moderate drinking being good for brain health.

Details:
In a large, comprehensive study, published in a highly reputable journal (Nature Communications) by researchers from UPenn, the association between alcohol intake and brain structure was assessed using imaging data from 36,678 generally healthy middle-aged and older adults from the UK Biobank.

They adjusted for potential factors that could influence the relationship.

They found that alcohol consumption was associated with shrinkage of the brain, damage to the gray matter (cells) and white matter (extensions of the cells).

These are critical structures that help us think, make decisions, process information, memorize, feel and express ourselves, and damage results in a range of issues - from fogginess and depression to outright dementia.
This further solidifies the idea that alcohol is neurotoxic.

Good dietary and lifestyle habits have never been more important than the present. Over 90% of those that have died from COVID had underlying medical co-morbidities, Obesity, Diabetes, CVD, which makes up over 3/4’s of the US population. So maintaining a proper weight and eating a healthful diet are crucial not only during these times but for long term health. Fad diets do not work longterm and can cause some deleterious effects. Being more mindful of what and how we eat can be lead to a more successful result for our health. See article below from Dr Judson Brewer from Brown University.
