I believe in relationships, and I enjoy working with clients to help them develop healthier connections within themselves, with friends and family, and with the society in which they live. I also take a particular interest in teaching clients coping skills to manage their distress, including mindfulness and yoga. I am experienced in guiding individuals, couples, and families through relationship challenges, grieving difficulties, life transitions/divorce, substance abuse, eating disorders, and trauma. I'm able to connect compassionately with resistant adolescents and teach their parents more effective ways to understand and support them through those often tumultuous years. I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker by the NC Certification and Licensure Board, and am also a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trained in EMDR by the EMDR Institute, and am a Level 2 Internal Family Systems therapist. I use my life experience, as well as the lessons I've learned from my wonderful clients, to help guide others to be their best Selves.
