From tragedy to triumph 🦾💙

Ali Truwit’s story reminds us that resilience knows no limits.

After surviving a shark attack and losing part of her leg, she returned stronger—crossing the finish line at the 2025 New York City Marathon less than two years later.

A true testament to courage, community, and the power of never giving up. 👏

We’re cheering for you, Ali—and for every amputee rewriting what’s possible.

Meet the shark-attack victim and Paralympian who finished the New York City Marathon. In 2023, Ali Truwit completed the Copenhagen Marathon, but just 10 days later, she lost her left foot and the lower part of her leg in a shark attack.

Less than two years later, she miraculously completed the 2025 New York City Marathon with the support of her family and friends, raising money for her charity and inspiring others along the way.
