Not every hospice is the same . . . ask for YoloCares by name!
For 50 years, YoloCares has been the region's safety net, delivering WORLD CLASS care at each patient's doorstep.

The number of hospice providers in the Sacramento region has quadrupled (to 72) in the last 7 years. Many owners/investors are simply looking to turn a fast profit at the expense of good patient care. YoloCares is a Joint Commission accredited nonprofit, community-based, community-founded, and community-governed healthcare provider with publicly reported quality scores that average in the TOP 5 PERCENT of all 1,700 hospices in California.

Before choosing a hospice provider OR referring one, ask if they are:
+Publicly posting quality scores
+Joint Commission Accredited
+Tenured with a reputable track record or new to the market
+Community-based and community-governed or privately owned
+Subject to annual financial audits by a governing Board

Two California residents pleaded guilty yesterday in connection with their roles in defrauding Medicare of nearly $16 million through sham hospice companies and to laundering the proceeds of the fraud as part of a multi-year scheme.

Cecily Hastings, owner and publisher of Inside Sacramento, hosted a discussion and fundraiser at her lovely Sutter Park home for YoloCares as the agency readies itself to assume ownership and operations of Joshua’s House . . . the first shelter/home for unhoused and terminally ill Sacramentans.

Hastings was a “Women Who Mean Business” awardee in 2017 by the Sacramento Business Journal. She is also the founder of the East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce. For more information about YoloCares or Inside Sacramento, please click on the links below.

Our Story

As the first established independent hospice in the Sacramento Valley, Yolo Hospice has the longest regional track record as experts in caring for people who have a life-limiting illness. We are a non-profit, community-based hospice. We were founded in 1979 by a group of local volunteers who wanted to offer a different kind of care to their community. That spirit is still at the heart of Yolo Hospice today.

We provide comfort and restore peace to the lives of our patients. We focus on easing pain, controlling symptoms and reducing the effects of illness so you can focus on living. We also know that every individual has unique needs, wishes and hopes. Your goals become our goals. We'll shape our care to honor and support what matters to you most. Together, we'll help you regain control and feel empowered. Each day is about your choice to live fully.
