Pt. 6 Riding into the sunset. Launching this boat for the first time was a little surreal. Three years in the making, long days, all nighters and more than a couple of good friends made this a reality. It all started when I stayed up all night to help finish his boat for his wedding the next day. At the same time another friend had this boat and our dearly departed friend Joe Polacky was helping him rebuild the hull. Unfortunately, later that year Joe passed away unexpectedly leaving friends and family devastated and this project ultimately got set aside with no really plans to complete it. We knew it would be a shame to see all of Joe’s hard work rot away so when the opportunity to buy the boat came up I had to jump on it and finish the project to make him proud. Of course we needed to make sure he was represented on the boat before its maiden voyage so from now on he’ll always be riding shotgun.

Pt. 5 The Electrical System. Everyone knows we love our Motorsport wiring, so it seemed appropriate to make sure this boat got the full milspec treatment! The materials used on this project will provide great reliability that may outlast the boat itself. Concentric twisting a harness adds significant flexibility to the harness as well as provides the smaller possible cross section. By using DR-25 and molded boots we are able to seal the electrical circuits away from sources of moisture and abrasion. Finally, by adopting the use of quality Milspec and Deutsch connectors we have an easily serviceable boat, no need to disconnect 15 circuits to pull an engine when you’re just one connector away!

Pt 4. Initially we weren’t sure if we’d be able to have rear seats when rigging up the boat. Without having the fuel tanks installed we had an unknown amount of space to work with. Fortunately the fuel tanks nearly completely fit under their respective gunnels and allowed us to fit in a really nice rear bench seat from we made mounts out of 3/4” sanded plywood that were then sealed with laminating resin then glassed into the hull offering additional strength and some small storage compartments in the boat.

Pt 3. When we got this boat it had a fresh jet rebuild but after some consideration we decided to add a Jetaway from for some added safety as well as a new loader that’s better for our application. In the future we’ll be going back in to add an inducer to help with some cavitation issues.
