Patrick Brown, M.A. is a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Brenau University and a Student Intern Therapist at Psychological Services of North Georgia. He provides psychotherapy services under the clinical supervision of Dr. Kamerman, in accordance with ethical standards and evidence-based practice.
Patrick provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults, with experience serving individuals involved in schools, medical settings, probation and court systems, and state agencies, including DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) and DJJ (Department of Juvenile Justice). His clinical experience includes working with clients presenting with anxiety, depressive disorders, anger and behavioral dysregulation, trauma- and grief-related concerns, substance use and addiction, stress-related conditions, emotional regulation difficulties, and adjustment challenges. He has also worked with individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and conduct-related or system-involved behavioral concerns.
Patrick utilizes an integrative, client-centered therapeutic approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic frameworks to support both symptom reduction and deeper psychological insight. Treatment emphasizes the development of adaptive coping skills, emotional awareness, behavioral accountability, and long-term functional improvement. His clinical work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based, allowing interventions to be tailored to the specific needs of each client and referral context.
Patrick is committed to providing structured, ethical, and collaborative mental health services and values interdisciplinary coordination with educators, case managers, probation officers, medical providers, and community agencies to support continuity of care and positive outcomes.
