The current government shutdown — now the longest on record — is affecting SNAP benefits for the approximately 1.4 million Ohioans who participate in the program.

While the Trump administration has announced it will partially fund SNAP this month, after a ruling from two federal judges, allotments for the program have been cut in half.

To help with this uncertainty, several businesses across the Dayton area have announced plans to give free meals to those facing food insecurity. Here is a guide to some of those.

I just came out of a 22+ hour labor and delivery supporting a high risk first time Mother.

Throughout the process, I kept getting asked, “How long do you plan to stay?” And my answer is simple: as a Doula, I don’t leave.

There’s no “next shift” to tag in.
There’s no rotation of new faces coming and going.
