Meet Toria Thornton
Birth & Postpartum Doula | Artist | Advocate for Mothers

Hello, I’m Toria Thornton—a Cleveland native now rooted in the Dayton area. My journey into birth work began with a love for art, feminist theory, and the powerful intersections of gender that I explored while attending Wright State University. I followed my passion and earned a B.A. in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in 2019, and I’ve been painting and creating ever since. Over time, I realized this path was bigger than art—it was a calling to support, uplift, and advocate for birthing people and new mothers. I believe my purpose didn’t just come from experience—my purpose found me. As a trained birth and postpartum doula, I offer compassionate, personalized care for both you and your baby. Whether you're preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or simply need someone to walk alongside you—I’m here to support you with open hands and a full heart. I bring my passion for education, advocacy, and creative healing into every client relationship. I provide evidence-based resources, emotional support, and a nonjudgmental space where your voice is heard and your choices are respected. Because while birth isn't always easy—you shouldn't have to face it alone. I'm here to help you feel informed, empowered, and held every step of the way.

✨️The More You Know: Doula Edition ✨️

Support can look different to everyone. As a doula I support moms through it all. 💜

Rather its adjusting to being a first time mom or adjusting to motherhood. I am here.

Postpartum doesn't have to feel like you need to do it alone. Finding the right fit of support to make sure you are surrounded with love and support. 💜

What's in my doula bag?

You asked, I'm answering.

Two books I always keep on hand for support, education, and conversation. For all my visual learners I got you lol.

Community care isn’t just checking in, it’s showing up.

It looks like meals, shared responsibility, emotional support, and reminders that you don’t have to carry everything alone.💜

🗣 Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum were never meant to be experienced in isolation. Having a supportive community can ease overwhelm, support mental health, and create space for rest and recovery.

Whether it’s family, friends, or professional support, community care matters. Before birth, during labor, and well into postpartum. 💜

✨ Save this or share it with a mom who needs the reminder.

What's in my doula bag?

You asked, I'm answering.

The essentials I never show up without ✨
1. Chapstick
2. Mouthwash
3. Hand sanitizer
4. Snacks

Honorable mention: nasal diffuser because… whew 😅

Labor isn’t meant to be done alone.
Support can look like reassurance, presence, advocacy, touch, and reminding you to breathe when things feel intense. 🌿

You deserve to feel safe, heard, and held through every part of your labor. 💜

💬 What kind of support feels most important to you during labor?

💾 Save this for your birth prep or share it with someone who will be part of your birth team.

What's in my doula bag?

You asked, I'm answering 😊

I love to stay organize in any way I can make visits go smoothly. From consultation to postpartum visits I love a good notebook to take notes in.

It's one of my favorite tools to use in my visit bag. 💜

✨ The More You Know: Doula Edition ✨

Postpartum is not just recovery, it’s a transition.
A season of healing, adjusting, and learning your new rhythm. 🌿

The fourth trimester isn’t meant to be done alone.
It’s supported by:
✨ nourishment
✨ rest
✨ community
✨ companionship

You deserve care just as much as your baby does. Support in this season isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity💜

💬 What kind of support feels most important to you right now?

💾 Save this as a reminder for yourself or share it with someone entering postpartum.

✨ The More You Know: Doula Edition ✨

A birth plan doesn’t have to be long or rigid.
At its core, it’s about clarity, communication, and support. 🌿

The three main areas to think through are:
✨ The beginning of labor
✨ During labor
✨ Postpartum + newborn care

When you focus on these foundations, your birth plan becomes a guide not a rulebook. It helps your care team understand what matters most to you, while leaving room for flexibility and trust in the process. 💜

💬 Which part of your birth plan feels most important to you right now?

💾 Save this for your birth prep or share it with someone building their plan.

✨ My books are officially open for 2026 ✨

I’m so grateful and honored to continue supporting moms and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum 🤍

This work is heart-led, sacred, and deeply personal and I don’t take it lightly.

I also believe doulas should speak more openly and honestly about the things families are truly curious about.

So I want to hear from you 👇🏽
💭 What questions do you wish doulas answered more openly?

💭 What do you feel unsure, nervous, or curious about?

Drop your questions in the comments no judgment, just real conversations and gentle support. Let’s normalize asking, learning, and feeling supported.
😊

If you’re expecting in 2026 and feeling called, my inbox is open 💜

✨️The More You Know: Doula Edition✨️

As the year comes to a close, this is your gentle reminder to pause. Take a breath. Unclench your shoulders. Soften your jaw. 🌿

The holidays can be full, loud, emotional, and heavy especially for parents, expecting families, and anyone holding a lot right now. You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to breathe.

Take three deep breaths with me today and save this for when things feel overwhelming.❤️

I’ll see you in the new year. Rested, grounded, and ready. ☺️

Pregnancy and postpartum aren’t just about physical changes. They shift your emotions, your energy, and how you see yourself.

There’s no “right” way to feel. Some days are light, some are heavy, and both deserve space. 🌿

Support isn’t only for birth; it’s for you, your mind, your heart, and your healing.

Whether it’s a doula, a therapist, or a trusted friend. Reaching out is strength, not weakness. 💜
