It’s World Doula Week ☺️
I cannot even express what it means to me to have found a community of doulas that have been so welcoming in Columbus. These women l have their boots on the ground, not only for our clients, but for the rights of women in Central Ohio and the progression and integrity of this sacred work.
This week is World Doula Week, followed by Community Doula Week where we have events to spread the word about the priceless and selfless work doulas provide.

Love this acronym

in action. Nicknamed the love hormone, It's present when you or**sm, when you talk about your wedding day, when your partner remembers your favorite Starbucks drinks, and when your contractions get intense. The synthetic version of oxytocin, pitocin, may be suggested or sneakily administered through IV, depending on birth setting, if labor does not progress or slows down. Its not the only option though. Unless medically necessary for birth person or baby, avoid synthetic support and get back to the basics with P.A.U.S.E:

-Pay attention to your body & say no or not now to interventions
-Ask questions of every provider that rotates in and that you trust. Ask God to be in the decision making process too.
-Understand/uncover alternatives like rotating positions,curb walking and lunges and bouncing on the yoga ball with breast pumps (peanut ball techniques for epiduralized folk)
-Strategize with your folk. Clear the room to just vibe together with your village. Maybe you watch movies, listen to music that makes you happy
-Evaluate how you feel after some food and a nap and make an informed decision.
