During Certified Nursing Assistants Week, we recognize the inspiring contributions that our hospice and home health aides make every day. They are the true eyes, ears, and hands of our clinical teams, turning the everyday tasks that patients can’t do for themselves into opportunities to show compassion. Your patience and kindness in the little moments that you share with patients make such a tremendous difference in their lives, and we couldn’t be prouder of you.

Share Your HEART and show LOVE in motion by visiting with hospice patients!

Volunteers are the Heart of Hospice, aiding families and individuals facing life-changing situations. "The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others," - Deann Hollis. Anyone with a compassionate heart is capable of volunteering. It doesn't take much to be a hospice volunteer; it just requires an open heart and willing hands. If you can offer a smile, hold a hand, share a hug, take a walk, or simply listen, you can volunteer with us.

The Holidays are quickly approaching. Give the gift of kindness by visiting hospice patients!

What better way to spread joy and share love this upcoming Holiday Season than by visiting with hospice patients.

Most of us long for the comfort of home and the company of loved ones during the holidays. The holidays can be extremely challenging for many people, especially for our patients and their loved ones, and volunteers are needed more than ever to offer compassion and care. Loneliness can make people more vulnerable to new illnesses or worsen an already severe condition. Donating your time to Gentiva Hospice can help someone through a difficult time this holiday season. The act of being there, talking, listening, and holding someone's hand can be more appreciated than you know. Volunteering for Gentiva Hospice during the holidays is the BEST GIFT you can give someone.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mary Berus by email at Mary.berus@gentivahs.com or by phone at #937-433-2400.
