It's hard to find the words, but I will begin here. I remember the advent of this business. It began as I was a receptionist at a law firm. I still remember a friend from that job who would come in and we would talk all about our dreams and crafts and life. I'm still friends with her. The revolution of who I was in my 30's was one of getting to that next level of my life. I started this business October of 2011-the year my dad died. I remember something moving within me, pushing me forward, wanting more meaning. Healing others was always my passion, because I was healing myself, at the time. Still am. :) Massaging when I was pregnant and after giving birth, from my home. Definitely learning who I was.
The pandemic and a divorce in the same year came, and with all the stress, I still worked in this field. It was very necessary then.
I worked out of my home in the backyard hut of beauty, which is still, such a cool accomplishment to me. We all need an oasis in our own backyard.
And here I am, taking the next adventure. I found an amazing Salon that is getting their Spa up and running. I think it is a good fit for my holistic, oasis, retreat of a person that I am. And having done a handful of massage there already, this work is sooooo needed still, if not more than ever.
So, after 13 years of having this business and making it what I wanted it to be, for me, in my world, each step, I can say that I created wellness, beauty, community, a listening ear, love, healing every second of those massages.

Just heard we haven't seen the sun for 10 days here!
Here is my sun lamp that emits ultraviolet rays to mimic the sun's light.
I've used it for several seasons, and I'm not completely convinced on this.
But, I put it on and sometimes it does feel like my brain is tricked somewhat.
I think I need the warmth behind it. Lol
My other trick is to turn on lights full blast in my house, and just moving forward with my to do list.

What are your tricks besides heading back under the covers?

Massage guns?
What do they do?
Massage guns are a percussive therapy.
They loosen soft tissue and increase blood flow. Fascia, is a huge band of tissue that wraps around your muslces and joints and can become inflamed. Research has found that tight fascia may also limit your range of motion.
Percussive therapy aims to prevent this tightness and increase range of motion.
The massage gun can reach an inch into your soft tissue to stimulate your muscles and even allow your brain to release tension. It also helps pre and post workout recovery by getting rid of that lactic acid that causes stiffness and soreness.
Using it on yourself is recommended so you can figure out how much pressure is best for you.
So, where this isn't a substitute for a massage, it can help on a smaller scale if you are in a pinch.
