💙 COMMUNITY STRONG 💙

On April 11th, I had the honor of canvassing with Daquan Neal right here in my hometown of Clayton, Ohio—thanks to the invitation from Misty McDowell.

As I walked alongside him, I watched a young Black man connect with neighbors, speak with purpose, and show real passion for the future of our community. He was articulate, energetic, and present—and that still matters.

I proudly cast my vote for Daquan.
Not just for him—but for those who came before us.
For the ones who were told they shouldn’t… when they should.
Told they couldn’t… when they could.

I voted for the ancestors—those who sacrificed everything so we could have a voice today.

As fellow HBCU graduates—Daquan from Central State University and myself from Talladega College—we carry a legacy of leadership, service, and perseverance.

In times like these, courage matters. And Daquan has the courage to step forward and say:
“I want to serve as your State Representative for District 39.”

Had an amazing time today out canvassing with Daquan Neal for State Representative (District 39)! 🙌🏽

There’s nothing like seeing someone step outside, walk the neighborhoods, and truly connect with the people they serve. I was so proud to watch him meet with neighbors and constituents—listening, learning, and showing up.

Even more special, he is a proud graduate of Central State University and fellow HBCU alumni! 💛💙 That legacy of excellence, leadership, and service was on full display today.

Our community deserves leaders who are present, passionate, and committed—and today showed just that.
