Corey Davis is to receive the Centerville Lifesaver Award!
In a special ceremony on May 21, the City of Centerville honored Corey Davis, FNP-C, of Contemporary Pediatrics with its Lifesaver Award!
Here’s what happened: Recently Corey was driving down Main Street in Centerville, when she spotted a gentleman face down on the sidewalk in obvious distress. She stopped to assist, and determined that he had no pulse and was not breathing. For the next five minutes she preformed CPR; and even after the police had arrived, she continued to try and resuscitate him. Finally, her efforts paid off, and the man slowly revived — today, he is back at home and doing fine.
Corey’s doing fine too — although performing chest compressions for about eight minutes did make her a little sore! If you talk to Corey, she downplays the event, but we can all agree that her actions were truly heroic, and she certainly deserves all the accolades and special thanks from all of us!
