Intermittent Fasting, let's get into it!

✅ Potential Pros:
It doesn’t restrict a specific food or food group
Long term practice might improve metabolism (weight loss, fasting blood glucose, etc.)
Might help with mindful eating habit
⚠️ Potential Cons:
Risk of low energy availability
Can impact recovery and training quality
May make it harder to meet nutrient needs
Majority of supporting evidence is not in the athletic population

Bottom line: I don’t recommend Intermittent Fasting to my athletes. It may work for some athletes, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach—and timing around training is key.

5 Steps to solid nutrition with our Dietitian Hannah!

1. Eating within 1 hour of waking up and what we do eat, needs to come before caffeine intake.
2. Eating every 2-4 hours
3. Balance meals and snacks with carbohydrates, protein, fat and color/fiber
4. Strategically hydrating
