The Brutal Truth of Falls over 65. Shockingly, falls are the number one cause of serious injury, hospitalization, and even death among those aged 65 and over. These sobering statistics are supported by various reputable organizations such as the CDC, Medicare, AARP, and the US Gerontology Institute. Failure to address falls upfront could potentially lead to devastating consequences for your loved one and a one-way ticket from home to Assisted Living or worse.

It is an unfortunate fact that one in four adults over 65 will suffer a significant fall each year in the U.S. Once a person falls, their chances of repeating the fall within a year double. Sadly, in 2023, 32,000 older adults died due to falls, equating to 88 older adults every day. Furthermore, the death rates from falls have risen by approximately 30% in the last decade.

Alarmingly, unintentional falls account for 90% of all emergency room visits for those aged 65 and over, making it the leading cause of hospital admissions, surgeries, permanent lower mobility, lower independence, and ultimately, death. With over 10,000 people turning 65 every day in the U.S., these figures will only continue to increase unless addressed promptly and effectively, which includes making items easily accessible, user-friendly, and affordable.
