We provide a free ambulance service to those living in the UD community. Feel free to stop by the EMS house and check out the ambulance or chat with the crew.

University of Dayton Emergency Medical Services is a state certified Basic Life Support ambulance. Approximately 60 undergraduate students at the University of Dayton serve the UD community 24/7. Recently, a few of our Squad 1 members had the incredible opportunity to stage the Dayton Air Show, alongside many other local agencies. Our crew members were on standby to transport patients to the hospital if necessary, and were ready to assist by providing aid to anyone in need. We’re grateful for the chance to serve at such an amazing event, and a huge thank you to for making this experience possible for us!

Squad 1 was thrilled to be back in service for Reunion Weekend ’25!
It was an incredible time reconnecting with UD EMS history, meeting some amazing Squad 1 alumni, and sharing stories from past and present. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by the Squad House — we loved meeting you and showing you around! Our alumni are the best 🩵

This past Friday, Squad 1 officially went out of service for the 2024-2025 school year! We had another amazing year and can’t wait to get back in the Fall 🤩 Also, a huge congratulations to all of our seniors who graduated this morning. We will miss everyone very much and are so excited to see the incredible things that the future holds for them. Thank you, seniors, for leaving such a positive impact on UD EMS! 🩵🤍🚑

Last night, we officially welcomed our new class members with some pizza and speed dating!! It was so great to meet all of the new members and to match up possible mentor-mentee pairings! We can’t wait to watch these new members become awesome EMTs 🚑🤍❤️

Our Story

University of Dayton EMS (UD EMS), formerly known as UD Rescue Squad, is located on the University of Dayton's Campus in Dayton, Ohio. Founded in 1992, we are a 100% student run volunteer Emergency Medical Services organization composed of undergraduate UD students. We provide pre-hospital care and transportation for all medical and trauma emergencies on campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year.
