We aim to be recognized for the quality of service we provide and the level of training we ensure our staff receives prior to beginning family services.

Applied Learning Institute (ALI) provides behavioral services to children with developmental disabilities (primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder) using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in Centerville, Ohio. Our mission is to provide high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services that promote the growth and development of children with autism spectrum disorder so that they may reach their full potential into adolescence. As leading providers of ABA therapy, we pride ourselves on the utilization of evidence-based research and empirical evidence to design individualized ABA treatment plans for each client we serve. Our goal is to increase functional and socially significant behavior in all aspects of our client’s lives, across both home and community settings.

🐾💙 All Staff Meeting Recap at ALI! 💙🐾

Today’s all-staff meeting was full of learning, collaboration, and a little extra joy!

We had a special visit from Pennsy the Emotional Support Dog 🐶, who brought lots of smiles and positive energy to our team.

Our staff also participated in role-play activities to refresh our understanding of the functions of behavior, along with reviewing key ABA principles to keep our skills sharp and up to date. 🧠✨

Ongoing training like this ensures we continue providing the highest quality care and support to our learners and families every day 💙

🧠✨ ABA Breakdown: Positive Reinforcement

Positive reinforcement is all about encouraging meaningful behaviors by adding something rewarding right after they occur—making it more likely those behaviors happen again in the future.

💡 What does that look like?
A child asks for a toy appropriately → they receive the toy along with praise

➡️ The result: They’re more likely to use that same communication again!

At Applied Learning Institute, we use positive reinforcement every day to help build communication, confidence, and independence in our learners 💙
