"Important neck pain prevention tips everyone should follow"
Taking care of neck pain can be very costly: regular massages, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and doctor’s visits all add up. In some cases, imaging, cortisone injections, or even surgery may be needed. Even with good health insurance, there are still copays and deductibles to consider.
Forward head posture is detrimental to your neck health, and I’m here to share some budget-friendly tips to help you avoid it.
1. Maintain good neck posture:
Your head should face forward with your chin above your chest and your shoulders rolled back.
2. Optimize your desk ergonomics:
There is a strong correlation between desk work and neck pain. Make sure your workstation is set up so you can get through your 8-hour workday without aches and pains.
3. Take regular breaks:
Take a quick 10-second break every 20 minutes or so. When we get focused at work, we tend to drift into poor posture without realizing it. Poor posture doesn’t last five minutes. It usually lasts for hours
If you follow these three principles, you can greatly reduce your neck pain. Without them, even frequent treatment is unlikely to give lasting results.
Remember, sometimes the best way to get out of pain doesn’t cost anything.
