Living with chronic disease means your care appointments aren't one and done. They're on-going, evolving, and above all else, personal.

That's where concierge medicine thrives. It grants better access to and more time with your physician, leading to proactive, personal care rather than crisis control.

Medications adjust sooner, symptoms are addressed faster, and nothing gets lost in the rush of a visit.

When your doctor truly knows you, your care becomes more effective and life becomes more manageable.

Experience matters—especially in healthcare.

Between Dr. Taylor, Dr. Duvall, and our team, we bring over 80 years of real-world experience into patient care. And we pair that experience with a strong focus on prevention and early detection.

We’ve invested in in-office screening so our patients don’t have to run all over town. That includes sleep studies, stress testing, ultrasound, hearing evaluations, pulmonary function testing, and ambulatory cardiac monitoring.

We also recently added dermatologic screening with Dermasensor—the only FDA-approved, AI-driven technology that helps assess suspicious skin lesions without being invasive.

This is concierge medicine the way it should be: personal, proactive, and built around your long-term health.

Most of us are great at taking care of patients.

We’re not always great at taking care of ourselves.

A lot of physicians, NPs, and PAs don’t have a primary care provider—and even when we do, it’s often someone we rarely see or contact. Time is tight, schedules are unpredictable, and traditional primary care isn’t built for how we actually live or work.

That’s where the concierge model makes sense for clinicians.
It’s a direct, colleague-to-colleague relationship. Easy access. Real communication. No phone trees, no unnecessary hurdles.
For many healthcare professionals, this isn’t about convenience. It’s about finally having a P*P relationship that works.

If you’re a physician, NP, or PA and curious about concierge primary care, feel free to call (937) 395-3622.

Understanding cholesterol: LDL vs. HDL.

LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is the "bad" cholesterol that can build up in arteries.

HDL (high-density lipoprotein) is the "good" cholesterol that helps remove LDL from your bloodstream.

You want LDL under 100 (lower if you have heart disease risk factors) and HDL above 40 for men, above 50 for women. Lifestyle changes that help include regular exercise, eating more fiber, limiting saturated fats, and maintaining a healthy weight. Sometimes medication is needed too, and that's okay.

We're already a quarter of the way through 2026. If health goals you set back in January have fallen by the wayside, there's still time to get back on track. Starting fresh in March works just as well as starting in January.

Our doctors are here to help you do exactly that. Give us a call at (937) 395-3622.

Understanding A1C: if you're monitoring diabetes or prediabetes, A1C is a key number to know. It measures your average blood sugar over the past 2-3 months.

Normal: below 5.7% Prediabetes: 5.7% to 6.4% Diabetes: 6.5% or higher

If you have diabetes, your target A1C will depend on your individual situation. Generally, keeping it below 7% reduces the risk of complications. But it's not just about the number—it's about sustainable management that fits your life.

Preventative care by age: what you should be thinking about

In your 30s-40s: establish baseline cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar. Start cancer screenings based on family history.

In your 50s-60s: colonoscopy, bone density screening (for women), more frequent heart health monitoring.
In your 70s+: fall prevention, cognitive health, medication management.

Everyone: annual physical, age-appropriate vaccines, and regular conversations with your doctor about what screening makes sense for you.

What does concierge medicine actually mean?

Think of it as a membership model for healthcare. Instead of your doctor managing thousands of patients, they focus on a small group (we cap ours at 400 per physician). This means longer appointments, better availability, and a doctor who actually knows your health history.

Medicine as it should be.

It’s easy to want to spend the cold months curled up on the couch, but it’s important to keep your body moving. Even if it’s just a walk (indoors or outdoors)!

A 30-minute walk most days of the week can:
- Lower blood pressure
- Improve cholesterol levels
- Reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes
- Boost mood and energy
- Strengthen bones and muscles

Start where you are. Even 10 minutes is better than nothing. Consistency matters more than intensity.

Let’s talk about Daylight Saving Time and your health!

Losing an hour of sleep might seem minor, but studies show an increase in heart attacks, strokes, and car accidents in the days following the time change.

Help your body adjust:
- Go to bed 15 minutes earlier starting a few days before
- Get morning sunlight to reset your circadian rhythm
- Avoid caffeine in the afternoon
- Keep your sleep schedule consistent all week

It usually takes about a week to fully adjust.

As we enter spring, the season of fresh starts and new beginnings, consider checking in on your health.

Questions to ask yourself:
- When was my last physical?
- Are there symptoms I've been ignoring?
- Do I need to refill prescriptions or schedule specialist follow-ups?
- Is my first aid kit stocked and current?
- Have I been putting off health goals?

A fresh season is a great time for a fresh start.
