Let’s clear something up.

If you're receiving SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance), you may have heard that working again could mean losing your benefits. That fear alone keeps many people from exploring options they actually have.

Here’s what’s often missing from the conversation:
The Social Security Administration created the Ticket to Work program for this exact reason, to give you a path back to employment without risking your SSDI or Medicare benefits.

What does that mean for you?
• You can explore jobs or training while keeping your benefits for a period of time
• You’ll get personalized support—career counseling, resume help, interview prep and more
• If working doesn’t work out, you may be able to return to benefits without reapplying

Ticket to Work is voluntary, free and tailored to your comfort level. It’s not about pushing you, it's about supporting your next step, whatever that looks like.
The system is complicated, but you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Once your Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claim is submitted and sent for review, you’ll likely receive follow-up questionnaires. The most common? The Function Report, also known as the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) form. This crucial document helps the SSA evaluate how your condition impacts your everyday life—and it can make or break your claim.

📌 Learn what it includes, why it matters and how to complete it effectively. Read here: www.advocator.com/blog/what-you-should-know-about-function-reports-for-disability

A common misconception about Medicare is that it’s not affordable. While everyone’s financial situation is different, Medicare offers a wide variety of coverage options with many plans including caps on out-of-pocket costs like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.

This allows Medicare enrollees to make selections that best line up with their unique financial needs. Additionally, many Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans include added benefits and perks like gym memberships, transportation assistance, meal vouchers, and more - which could significantly impact your quality of life - for little to no additional cost.

As you learn more about Medicare, you may be surprised by the wide range of options available to you. If you have more questions or want the guidance of an experienced, trustworthy professional, call Aevo today at (877) 406-5160, or visit our website at aevoservices.com.

We are here to help and will walk alongside you through every step of your Medicare journey.

When it comes to enrolling in Medicare, timing is everything. Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) varies depending on whether you're signing up for Part A, B, or D; missing it could mean permanent penalties.

Fortunately, you might qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) or have alternative coverage that exempts you from these penalties. Read more about your options on advocator.com. We outline everything you need to know about your enrollment window! Click here: https://www.advocator.com/blog/medicare-mindfulness-how-to-avoid-costly-penalties-before-they-start/

Presenting your best self doesn’t mean being perfect! It means being prepared.
According to SSA, nearly 400,000 people have used the Ticket to Work (TTW) program to explore employment and build toward financial independence.

Presenting your best self starts long before you sit across from a hiring manager.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Know your story. Be ready to explain your experience and gaps with confidence. You don’t need to overshare; just show how you have grown.
- Research the role. Understand the company, the position and be prepared to articulate how your strengths align with their mission.
- Practice, but don’t memorize. Rehearse common questions and focus on clarity over perfection.
- Ask thoughtful questions! It shows you care and are not afraid to lead a conversation.
- Remember that they called you for a reason. Show them how you are ready to work.

With the TTW program, you can get coaching and prep before the big day. You’ve got this.

Medicare Part D, which helps cover prescription drugs, is optional. But if you skip it when you're first eligible and don’t have other creditable drug coverage, you could face a late enrollment penalty, which is an extra 1% of the national base premium for every month you delay.

Enrolling early can help avoid future costs and give you peace of mind even if you don't take medications now.
