Halifax Health - Medical Center of Daytona Beach has performed its first robotic total knee replacement using Johnson & Johnson’s Velys Robotic-Assisted Solution. This achievement is a testament to our commitment to providing advanced technology and exceptional care for our community.

Dr. Brian R. Hatten, an orthopedic surgeon from The Orthopedic Clinic in Daytona Beach, completed the surgery at Halifax Health. The Velys Robotic-Assisted Solution uses a variety of advanced technologies to provide the surgeon with the information and tools they need to perform accurate and precise knee replacement surgery that is personalized for the patient’s specific anatomy which may help improve patient outcomes.

Please join us in congratulating the February 2026 Team Member of the Month, Grace Linkinhoker, RN, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit!

Grace has been a Halifax Health Team Member since 2021. Grace serves as a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse, providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to critically ill and premature neonates. Her responsibilities include managing high-acuity patients supported by mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and other advanced respiratory and cardiac monitoring. Grace conducts thorough neonatal assessments, quickly recognizes changes in patient condition, and intervenes appropriately to promote optimal outcomes.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Grace delivers compassionate, family-centered care by supporting families during highly stressful and emotional experiences.

Grace consistently demonstrates a proactive approach and is a trusted member of the care team. She anticipates patient and unit needs by staying ahead of changes in clinical status, communicating clearly with providers, and taking initiative to address concerns before they escalate. Grace routinely assists coworkers without being asked and contributes to a smooth workflow across the unit. Grace's willingness to share knowledge, provide guidance, and step in wherever needed reflects her strong sense of accountability and commitment. Her proactive mindset strengthens team performance, supports a positive unit culture, and directly enhances the level of care delivered in the NICU.
