Did anyone witness the remarkable landing of the Navy Seahawk helicopter on our south helipad at Halifax Health yesterday? Our team leapt into action as soon as we received the call from the Navy. With the Seahawk weighing over 20,000 pounds and generating rotor wash exceeding 80 mph upon landing, close coordination between pilots, our Halifax Health trauma team, and ground crews was crucial.

At Halifax Health, we are honored to be trusted by various branches of the U.S. military, including the Navy and NASA. Throughout the year, we actively participate in training exercises to ensure our teams are ready to respond instantaneously when real emergencies arise. We'd like to introduce you to Bethany Grace, the first baby born at Halifax Health in 2026 👶

Born at 10:54 am on Thursday, January 1, Bethany made her big debut weighing in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. Her mother, Katelynn Robinson, shared her joy. “It’s just amazing,” said Katelynn. “She’s so new and so perfect. We feel blessed.”

“I have delivered at Halifax Health before, and they treat you so wonderfully. They are very caring, kind, and helpful,” said Katelynn. “I wanted to deliver Bethany here because I knew they would take great care of us.”

Continuing tradition, the family was gifted a basket of baby items put together by Halifax Health and Tanger Outlets, Daytona Beach along with a complimentary photo package from Baby Face Portraits.

Since 1928, generations of expecting mothers have chosen Halifax Health to bring their babies into this world. Halifax Health is proud to announce that Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, in partnership with The NASCAR Foundation, has generously donated a Hospitality Cart for use by pediatric patients and their families in the Speediatrics Inpatient Children’s Unit at Halifax Health.

The Hospitality Cart Program brings comfort and care directly to families at the bedside, offering hygiene kits, snacks, games, and other family-centered activities. “While families may not need the full services of an RMHCCF house, they benefit greatly from the compassion and warmth this program provides,” said Tanya Wolfe, Nurse Manager for the Speediatrics Unit.

We’re excited to introduce Dr. Basheer Elsolh, a board-certified surgical oncologist with UF Health Surgical Specialists at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach. He specializes in surgical management of breast, gastrointestinal, and colorectal cancers, as well as melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma.
