How do you begin to put in words the loss of my partner and great friend of 26 years. John and I started Operation Changing Lives, built 549 Healrh blvd, Town Center medical center together and fought the battles with hospitals to make sure our community had craniofacial trauma covered for our patients and staff. We talked about everything from American history, to fishing, hunting, to being dads and husbands and surgeons to our community. He was my go to for advice. He spent hours telling stories to my boys about other countries and growing up in Daytona beach. It’s hard for me to believe I won’t be able to call or text him any time I needed his input. I will miss his car speeding into office on staff meeting day and hearing him tell stories to patients and staff. He was world traveled, loved to take his family on amazing vacations and was always ready for a great adventure. To Jennifer, Will and Jesse, you were his world. He was so proud and would light up when he spoke of you. FOFSA will never be the same We will do our best to honor you, remember you and be so grateful to have known you. I am blessed to have had you in my life. The world was a better place with you in it. We will continue our excellence as you would want and expect from us and the staff and doctors will always be grateful to your contribution to us and this community. I will miss you each day I love you my friend RIP JOA🙏🏻💔❤️‍🩹

Dr. Schalit is well-known in cosmetic surgery circles as a surgeon, an instructor and accomplished speaker. He lectures nationally and internationally on cosmetic facial surgery and also hosts monthly seminars for the public, speaking on ‘The Latest Techniques in Facial Rejuvenation.’

Dr. Schalit is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He proudly holds title as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Schalit is a partner with Florida Oral & Facial Surgical Associates and is the Chief Surgeon of the Division of Maxillofacial Surgery at Halifax Health Medical Center and Advent Health Palm Coast. He also serves as an adjunct professor for Nova University, training residents in facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Schalit is a national trainer for Allergan Medical Aesthetics and ranks annually in the top 1% of solo injectors nationally, and holds status as one of the company’s top volume accounts.
