This week is Heart Failure Awareness Week. During this time, we are reminded of how many are touched by this condition every day. Understanding the different types of heart failure and how they affect the people we care about helps us to offer more empathy and support.

At Encompass Health, we’re committed to educating patients and their families by providing the resources they need to manage heart health with confidence.

After surviving a stroke in December 2025, Joseph Brown experienced challenges with his speech, memory and balance. Our rehabilitation team at Encompass Health Daytona Beach used advanced therapy equipment to address these deficits and help him regain independence. The Vector system offloads weight to promote a more natural walking pattern, and Blaze Pods are used to incorporate coordination, sequencing, balance and dual‑task completion — plus they add a bit of fun to therapy sessions.
