In honor of Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, the residents of Country Living at Westview Commons were once again treated to a moving and memorable performance by Sgt. Daniel M. Clark, “The Singing Trooper.” Clark’s musical military tribute filled the halls with harmony, gratitude, and pride as he celebrated those who have served and continue to serve our great nation.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a retired Massachusetts State Trooper, Daniel M. Clark has long represented his country, commonwealth, and community with distinction; performing in uniform for over twenty years at more than 2,500 events spanning federal, state, local, and military functions. Known for his rich vocals and heartfelt delivery, The Singing Trooper’s career has taken him from the stages of Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops to the fields of Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium to the fanfare of Boston Marathon’s starting line. Daniel M. Clark’s renditions of the National Anthem have inspired countless patriots. In addition to his military and police service, Clark’s remarkable talent has graced national television and numerous civic events—all while continuing to uplift communities across New England.

At Westview Commons, Clark delivered a performance both reverent and rousing. He featured patriotic standards such as “God Bless America,” traditional hymns including “Amazing Grace,” and each of the United States Service Branch Anthems. Residents—many proudly adorned in red, white, and blue—joined in song, creating an atmosphere of unity and American spirit that resonated throughout the community. Enhanced with new lighting, sound, and visual detail, The Singing Trooper’s artistry reached new heights. All present on Veterans Day were reminded of his continual dedication to perfecting his craft and connecting with his audience on a deeply personal level.

As the final notes rang out, a sense of pride and gratitude lingered—an echo of appreciation for the veterans who have given so much in service to freedom. We are endlessly thankful to Sgt. Daniel M. Clark for sharing his voice, his heart, and his history with us once again at Country Living at Westview Commons. His performances are as inspiring as they are entertaining. We eagerly look forward to welcoming him back for his next score of song, spirit, and celebration for America.

Have another EEK!…rather, have another PEEK at some images from Country Living at Westview Commons’ Halloween Party. Residents enjoyed the musical repertoire and lively repartee of “The Catnip Junkies” in The Great Room. Westview Commons’ Dietary Staff offered our costumed crowd a colorful palette of festive finger foods (important note: none included actual fingers).

A warm ambience enveloped the grand space on this otherwise brisk fall eve. The Activities Team at Westview Commons masterfully curated multiple aspects of our Halloween Party at Westview Commons. Most overtly, they ensured that all in attendance had the opportunity to don costumes and accessories; adding just a little extra fun and frivolity to the already jovial occasion.

The event hailed an audience not only from our own halls, but also many family members joining their loved ones in Autumnal fellowship. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our little home on Halloween!

🎼The Country Living Choir rounded out their September song circuit with a home show for fellow residents at the Dayville, CT independent and assisted living facility. This choral crew coordinates quarterly to bring sing-along performances across Westview’s three facility campus. Following last week’s performance for patients and residents at Westview Health Care Center, the audience at Westview Commons’ Picturedrome Theater enjoyed another song session among neighbors.🎶

The Country Living Choir merrily rolled across the street from Westview Commons for one of their friendly Sing-A-Long sessions with patients and residents of Westview Health Care Center. Arriving via the courteous comfort of the Westview Commons van, the Country Living Choir sets out with confident command of their choral abilities thanks to the leadership of Assistant Activities Coordinator Nancy Blake.

Lyric sheets are distributed, voices are harmonized, and spirits are lifted every time the Country Living Choir share their gift of music around the Westview campus. Their set list of classic tunes from the American songbook catches the ear of everyone in the vicinity and often captures bystanders to join into the vocalizations. Their next Sing-A-Long sensation rings out when they host an audience on their home stage at Westview Commons’ Picturedrome Theater—stay TUNED!

Friend of Westview Commons and pool enthusiast Bob Madenjian set up in our corner to offer a demonstration to residents. This was his second such visit, with all interested Westview Commons residents invited to attend. Dr. Bob (as he is known to his Veterinary patients) stopped by to entertain us with trick shots and educate us about the strategic aspects of the game. After showcasing several tricks, Bob opened the table to oversee a match between a pair of residents and provide coaching tips. Thanks for taking a BREAK with us Bob!
