Monday Movement Tip đŸ’Ș

Strength training isn’t just for the gym—it’s a key part of rehabilitation.

Using resistance bands helps strengthen muscles, improve joint stability, and support recovery after injury.

Small, controlled movements today build stronger, more resilient bodies tomorrow.

Dynamic vestibular rehabilitation helps improve balance and reduce dizziness by retraining how the brain, eyes, and inner ear work together.

As you see here, one of our patient walks while performing head movements and cognitive tasks like reading words, colors, numbers, and shapes to challenge the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) and improve stability during movement.

All of our locations have therapists certified in vestibular rehabilitation, providing specialized care for dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders.

Dakota Kresta (DPT) grew up in Shiner, Texas, where hard work and family values shaped who he is today.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M–Corpus Christi and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Health San Antonio, where he met his wife. They have two children and love spending time outdoors—fishing, hiking, gardening, canning, and hunting.

Dakota began his career in acute care, working with medically complex patients in the ICU, before transitioning to outpatient physical therapy nearly three years ago to focus more on family.

From post-surgical care to outpatient recovery, he brings a wide range of experience and is dry needling certified for both upper and lower extremities. Dakota Kresta now serves as the Clinic Director at our Texarkana–Plaza Dr. location.
