Fall is just around the corner, I am in need of a few square bales of hay and some pots of Mums., if anyone has any extra square bales of hay for sale or could donate, I would deeply appreciate it so we can get our front decorated for fall for our residents, thanking you in advance for your help please contact Sue Nester at Mississippi Care Center Dekalb .

Residents of Mississippi Care Center of Dekalb voted for the August employee of the month. Congratulations to Patricia Odom from the activities department for being selected as our August employee of the month.. thank you Patricia for all your hard work and your kindness shown to our residents.

We tried a new activity today, mind cognition, where I placed six or eight items on a table, then two residents come to the table was given instruction to View the items on the table for a few seconds then I called out an item to see which one would be able to sn**ch it up first., then I would replace the item that was sn**ched up with a new item. We did this with each resident two at a time until every resident had received an item from the table the residents enjoyed the game and here are a few pictures during our activity.

What an awesome day at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb,Mississippi. As you can see residents enjoyed a fun filled day with fellowship, music, boiled and parched peanuts. The weather was amazing with a light cool breeze blowing in our faces.. staff joined the residents eating peanuts.  The smiles on their faces tells it all., laughter, tapping their feet, clapping their hands to the rhythm of the music, a little country, blues , Elvis and others. Thank you God for an amazing day.Thank you staff for making this a memorable day.

Mississippi care center of Dekalb enjoyed music and boiled and parched peanuts this afternoon. the weather was so nice outside that they enjoyed the quiet breeze from the trees and watching a whirlwind blow pretty fall leaves from the tree.  what a joy to watch residents shelling peanuts for the ones that couldn’t ,so they could enjoy the peanuts too. I’m glad that we are able to have activities that bring back old memories to each of the residents..

We’re exercising to the music and boiling peanuts . The breeze is so nice outside. God has made such a beautiful day. The residents really enjoyed that fresh air. We’ll be back out at 2 o’clock to sample the peanuts.
