Not all hospices are equal. Although all hospices are required to provide basic core services, major differences exist in the depth and breadth of support provided. A good rule of thumb is that nonprofit hospices offer more unique programs, invest more in staff expertise, accept more complex cases, provide greater access to care for under- and uninsured patients, and have inpatient care and grief centers.

As Wisconsin’s first hospice agency, every decision Unity makes is about what’s best for our patients, families, and our communities. As a nonprofit, we’re focused on our mission, not our margin. This allows us to concentrate on what truly matters: providing the highest quality care and support to those who need us.

Unity Resale Shoppe is in need of volunteers!

We are in need of volunteers! ✨ We’re looking for some helping hands! ✨

Our Unity Resale Shoppes could really use the support of kind-hearted volunteers. 💙 At our East Shoppe, we’re especially in need of help with a variety of roles during the week between 4pm – 6pm, as well as on Saturdays from 10am – 2pm.

Over at our West Shoppe, we’d love some extra help with cashiering, receiving donations, and sorting treasures that come through our doors.

If you’ve been thinking about giving back, making new friends, or just want to spend a few hours doing something meaningful, we’d love to have you on our team!

Please join Unity at Oaktoberfest held at Oak Park Place, 421 Erie Road, Green Bay on Thursday, September 11, from 12:30 – 3:30. This event is free to the community but please register by Friday, September 5 by calling 920-301-4200 or email greenbayreception@oakparkplace.com, space is limited. There will be music by Jerry Voelker and the Jolly Gents playing eclectic mix of Octoberfest-inspired tunes ranging from polkas and waltzes to the modern jitterbug.

Please join us for the second annual Shawano Alzheimer’s Walk at the beautiful Franklin Park. This event is free but please register; pre-registration walkers receive a free T-Shirt. Unity will be there again this year with resources at our booth. This event is for everyone in the community who would like to support those on this journey, for the caregivers and for those facing Alzheimer’s and other dementia.

We are grateful to Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer and Vandervest Harley-Davidson for their generous donation to Unity, where they awarded a total of $185,000 to local nonprofits.

This marks the 10th year Unity has been honored as a recipient, and we’re truly thankful for this long-standing partnership. Your continued support helps us provide compassionate hospice, palliative, and grief care to individuals and families across Northeast Wisconsin.
