We have an immediate opening for a Full-time Biller/Coder. Our Team members perform various day-to-day patient account functions for our Medical and Specialty programs. Duties include patient and third-party billing, problem resolution, review of patients' records to determine proper CPT/ICD-10 coding, interacting with physicians to ensure coding accuracy, and account inquiries. Familiarity with Michigan Medicaid Managed Care and commercial insurance programs is essential. Experience in the use and review of electronic health records is a requirement. Strong computer and organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally, by phone, and in written formats are necessary.
Required Language: English; Spanish fluency is a plus
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in medical coding is strongly desired; candidates without certification who possess extensive coding experience may also be considered
One year of medical coding experience is mandatory
Understanding of Michigan Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, and Commercial insurance programs is essential
Experience with the EClinical Works EMR is ideal, not mandatory
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skill
AAPC and/or RHIT certification required
