: We were thrilled to welcome WXYZ 7 Action News reporter Jeffrey Lindblom to LAHC last week as he highlighted our mobile pantry partnership with Forgotten Harvest! 🎥💛

This mobile market brings fresh produce and culturally familiar staples to Dearborn families twice a month — because food access should feel respectful, inclusive, and rooted in community. Whether it’s fresh produce or staples that reflect the community we serve, this isn’t just food — it’s support that feels like home.

At LAHC, food access is about dignity, culture, and community. That’s why our partnership with Forgotten Harvest’s mobile market matters — it brings culturally familiar, nutritious food to families in Dearborn twice a month, increasing reach and making sure everyone feels respected and cared for at our door. 💛

For many, fresh produce and culturally familiar staples open the door — and our wraparound services help families thrive beyond the pantry. We've got your back, reach out today!

Fueling and exercising while fasting is all about timing and listening to your body. The most effective workout windows are after Suhoor (keep it light and balanced to sustain energy) or after Iftar, when you’re hydrated and properly fueled for better performance and recovery.

No matter when you train, reduce intensity, prioritize hydration, and choose movement that supports your body!

LAHC – Leaders Advancing & Helping Communities is proud to announce that Attorney Fadwa Hammoud has been appointed to serve a two-year term on the organization’s Board of Directors, a milestone that comes at an exciting moment in LAHC’s continued growth and forward vision.

As a mission-driven nonprofit, LAHC works to expand access to education, workforce training, social services, behavioral, mental and public health services across Southeast Michigan. The organization focuses on helping over 80,000 individuals annuallyto build stability, strengthen skills, and connect to meaningful career opportunities that support long-term success.

Hammoud brings extensive leadership experience in law, public service, and community advocacy. As Managing Member of the Detroit office of Miller Johnson, she leads complex investigations and litigation efforts while supporting strong organizational leadership and community engagement, experience that will help guide LAHC as it continues to grow its programs and partnerships.

“Fadwa’s leadership and dedication to community service make her a strong addition to our Board at a pivotal time for LAHC,” said Wassim Mahfouz, CEO of LAHC. “As we expand our workforce development programs and prepare for our new facility, her perspective will help strengthen our mission and support the people and families we serve.”

“I’m honored to join the LAHC Board and support the important work happening every day in our communities,” said Hammoud. “I look forward to helping share LAHC’s story and contributing to programs that strengthen opportunity, workforce readiness, and support for those who need it most.”

Her appointment comes as LAHC prepares to launch its Education & Workforce Hub in 2026, a centralized space designed to strengthen career pathways, expand access to training and technology, and connect residents to employment opportunities. The Hub will serve thousands each year through career coaching, skills training, youth programs, and supportive services.

As LAHC continues building a strong, future-ready workforce, Hammoud’s leadership will help advance collaboration and long-term community impact while strengthening pathways to opportunity across the region.
