Emory Decatur Hospital's emergency department has earned the ENA Lantern Award—a national recognition reserved for emergency teams that set the standard in innovation, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care. It’s a distinction that highlights both the quality of care our patients receive and the excellence of the nurses and providers who deliver it.
“I am proud of our emergency department, including our nurses, for playing such a key role in our promise of delivering high-quality and compassionate care,” says Jen Schuck, CEO of Emory Decatur, Emory Hillandale and Emory Long-Term Acute Care hospitals.
The 31-bed emergency department cares for nearly 70,000 patients annually and has implemented process improvements that significantly reduced wait times and increased patient satisfaction, even as patient volumes grew.
Emory Decatur Hospital’s emergency department has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award, which recognizes accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care.
