This past Saturday we joined the 25th Annual Polar Plunge at Lake Decatur Beach and took a dive into some seriously icy water for a great cause. Our team raised $700 for Special Olympics Illinois, and the entire chapter surpassed its goal by raising $92,100. We’re proud to stand alongside a community that shows up, gives back, and proves that when people come together, real impact happens.

Today, we stand in support of everyone affected by dementia.

Dementia is a group of conditions that cause a decline in memory, thinking, and other cognitive abilities that affect daily life. It impacts millions of individuals and families around the world. In fact, 1 in 9 people over the age of 65 are living with dementia.

For many of us, this is not just a statistic — it’s personal. Most of us know someone, care for someone, or love someone who has been affected by dementia.

As professionals working in mental health and care, we are committed to standing beside those living with dementia and the families who support them. Today, and every day, we recognize their strength, raise awareness, and continue advocating for compassion, understanding, and quality care.

On MLK Day, we shared slices, laughs, and quality time thanks to Frank Reed and the Elks Lodge. Frank and his family generously volunteered their time to serve pizza, host Bingo, and bring prizes for our residents.
