This is an infrequent, but important conversation I have with folks when talking distress tolerance and emotional regulation. Our brains very much get ahead of themselves at times and that can get very uncomfortable. Mindfulness in the moment can get us back on track and not allowing automatic negative thoughts from stealing positive experiences/thoughts/activities and replacing it with worry/future tripping.
