Because Harm Reduction is Recovery. And Recovery starts with us showing up and meeting people where they are.

This weekend, PIHC Recovery partnered with Chat for Change student volunteers from Georgia Tech at Saint Mark UMC connecting with our unhoused neighbors.

We offered harm reduction supplies like NARCAN and fentanyl test strips, hygiene kits, and safer s*x resources + linkage to care at our Decatur Center. But most importantly, we offered presence, compassion, and hope.

One man told us, “I don’t use, but my friends do. I’m scared for them. Can I take Narcan for them?”
Another woman, newly diagnosed with HIV and struggling with addiction, asked, “Can I still get into treatment?”

The answer is Yes to all. You can. And we’ll walk with you.

We’ll be back the first Saturday in May for Mental Health Awareness Month - bringing on-site counselors, peer recovery coaches, and continued support.
