Does your body feel stiff the moment you stand up after sitting? 🪑

One simple go-to is the seated piriformis stretch.

This stretch helps target deep muscles in the hips and glutes that often tighten up with long periods of sitting. When these areas get stiff, they can contribute to hip discomfort, lower back tension, and that “locked up” feeling when you stand back up.

The seated piriformis stretch is easy to do at your desk or on the couch, making it a great option for quick movement breaks throughout the day. Gentle, consistent stretching can help restore mobility and make transitions from sitting to standing feel smoother.

Not ready for heavy lifting yet?

That’s okay. Building strength does not always mean lifting heavy. Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) is a tool we sometimes use in rehab to help muscles work harder using lighter resistance, especially when joints or tissues are still healing.

When guided by a physical therapist, it’s carefully monitored and focused on helping you keep making progress without extra stress.

Getting your hip moving again takes more than rest.

With labrum rehab, the focus is usually on helping the hip feel strong, supported, and confident again through the way it moves. That means controlled strength work, stability, and movement that actually carries over into daily life.

In this session, we worked on building trust in the hip with intentional movement and meeting the body where it’s at. Progress comes from showing up, moving with purpose, and adjusting along the way.

Helps restore upper-back rotation so movement feels easier and less stressful on the lower back.
