One simple go-to is the seated piriformis stretch.

This stretch helps target deep muscles in the hips and glutes that often tighten up with long periods of sitting. When these areas get stiff, they can contribute to hip discomfort, lower back tension, and that โ€œlocked upโ€ feeling when you stand back up.

The seated piriformis stretch is easy to do at your desk or on the couch, making it a great option for quick movement breaks throughout the day. Gentle, consistent stretching can help restore mobility and make transitions from sitting to standing feel smoother.

Getting your hip moving again takes more than rest.
