Rebuild your Achilles the right way:

Start with isometrics to calm pain and restore load tolerance.

Progress to deficit soleus heel raises to build strength where it matters most.

Finish with assisted hopping to reintroduce elasticity and return to sport.

Tendons don’t just “heal” — they adapt to the load you give them. Load it well. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Outer hip pain while running?
It’s not just tightness.

It’s a load management problem.

👉 Swipe for the progression:
Isometric → Strength → Stability → Return to run

Do it right = stay running
Do it wrong = keep restarting

A conversation we always have with our patients. Imaging does not always show you where your pain is coming from. Many anatomical abnormalities exist without pain AND conversely, someone who is in pain can have absolutely normal imaging results.

Imaging is a great tool when needed - but often shouldn’t be the ONLY tool used to diagnose someone who is in pain.

Low back acting up? Don’t ignore it early on

If you’re dealing with the first signs of lumbar disc irritation—stiffness, pain with sitting, or that “pinch” when you bend—these exercises can help calm things down and get you moving again

The key?
- Keep it controlled
- Stay consistent
- Don’t push into sharp pain

Early intervention = faster recovery

Save this for later & send it to someone whose back has been talking a little too much lately!

From “stuck and frustrated” ➡️ training for a triathlon 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏊‍♂️

This is what happens when you stop guessing and start progressing.

Big shoutout to Dr. Barren for guiding the process and keeping things moving forward the right way 🙌

If you’ve been dealing with nagging pain or feel like you’ve hit a wall, you don’t have to stay there.

Shoulder feeling cranky? Your rotator cuff might just need a little attention

These are some of the most popular (and effective) rotator cuff exercises we use to build strength, improve stability, and keep your shoulders doing what they’re supposed to do

👉 Save this for your next upper body day
👉 Share with someone whose shoulder always “acts up”

Remember: it’s not just about doing exercises—it’s about doing the right ones, the right way.

How do you know when you’re ready for return to running? Here are a few tests we use with our patients to determine if they are safe to return:

🏃 Long Lever Bridge: Looking to maintain 30 seconds with a straight trunk position and hip extended

🏃‍♀️ Calf Raise: Looking for a full calf raise 1 per second
Age: 20-30 yo: 35+ reps; 30-40 yo: 30+ reps; 40-50 yo: 25+ reps

🏃‍♂️ Lateral Step Down: Looking at hip stability, ability to load through the anterior knee, and ankle dorsiflexion mobility

🏃 Bulgarian Split Squat: Looking at whether you can maintain good hip/knee/ankle alignment, a hip vs. quad dominant pattern, and balance

🏃‍♀️ 1 Leg Hop: Looking for tolerance of single leg loading, hip and trunk stability, calf fatigue, and if there is asymmetry between sides

Do you feel tight after sitting at a desk working all day?

Do yourself a favor and hit these 4 moves when you close down your computer/laptop.

1) Open books - helps to open up your chest and shoulders as well as upper back (x 10 reps per side)

2) Seated thoracic extensions - helps to open up your chest, shoulders, and neck (x 10 reps)

3) Butterfly bridges - reverse the tightness your hips and back feel from being flexed all day by opening them into extension (x 10-15 reps)

4) Standing prayer stretch - opens up the chest and shoulders as well as low back (x 10-15 reps)

Your body will thank you later!

🏃‍♂️ From pain to the finish line.

A few months ago, running wasn’t feeling great. Through a targeted rehab plan, strength work, and consistent training, Sandeep was able to toe the line for his first half marathon—and finish it completely pain free.

This is what the right plan can do. Not just reducing pain, but helping you get back to doing the things you love.

If running is part of your life, your rehab should support that.

Congratulations to Sandeep on his first half marathon!
