There are times in life when you get inducted into clubs you never signed up for and never intended to be a part of. No one looks forward to the day when they’ll be divorced, have a miscarriage, lose a loved one, suffer injuries from a car accident, declare bankruptcy, or be diagnosed with cancer. Life is often like a game of cards; we’re sometimes dealt a lousy hand. So in life, it becomes a matter of what we’re going to do with it.

I encourage people to think hard about the foundation they’re building their lives on. If we wait until the storms of life hit to begin the process of building a foundation, it may be too late.

God isn’t just interested in lifting people out of pits and valleys. Through Jesus, God shows that He is willing to get down in the valleys with us. Incarnation living. God doesn’t leave us alone in our pain. God is present on the journey.

We treat one another right, not because of who they are, but because of Whose we are.

We practice Romans 12:18, “As far as goes with you, live at peace with everyone.” That is right in the middle of Paul advising us how to treat our enemies. we have too much of the Spirit’s peace internally that we can’t help but express it externally.

For three weeks now, Monday nights have held sacred space for families walking the path of grief. We could not do this work without the help of our volunteers: from feeding our facilitators & families, greeting families at the door and being with the grievers. A special thank you to the donors whose gifts make these sessions possible.

Every person has a story of pain and suffering. It is part of the human experience. God prepares all of His children to suffer. And that, my friends, means we prepare for war. The enemy is clearly defined, and it is not each other. We support each other. We show grace and mercy and love. We stand together and whisper words of truth.

Jesus is fighting for us. Jesus is fighting alongside of us.
