As we get older, it's normal to lose some muscle mass- but sarcopenia is when this loss becomes significant enough to affect strength, balance, and independence.
Here are signs to look out for:
-Feeling weaker or slower than before
-Trouble getting up from a chair
-Losing muscle tone or stamina
What helps prevent it?
-Regular strength training (even light weights or resistance bands!)
-Getting enough protein in your diet
-Staying active every day
-Checking vitamin D and hormone levels with your doctor
