After losing a loved one, you deserve a compassionate friend, and Danny Carter, Funeral Assistant, is ready to offer support and care.

He consistently goes above and beyond, helping every family find comfort on one of their most difficult days. His deep faith, warm presence, and commitment to serving others make him a valuable asset to our team and the families we serve.

Danny is a lifelong resident of Meigs County and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He and his wife, Patsy, have shared the gospel through their singing ministry, The Carters, for over 40 years. Together they have two children, one granddaughter, and three great-grandchildren.

Vergie Lynn Bivens

Vergie Lynn Bivens, age 78, of Ten Mile, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

She was a daughter of the late Clayton and Hilda Triplett and of the Baptist faith. She was a well-established and deeply loved owner of convenience stores, faithfully serving the Meigs County community since 1976. Most recently, she was the proud owner of Four Corner Market, where she continued to serve others until her retirement in 2012.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bivens; daughter, Holly Guffey; siblings, Thelma Patrick, Joyce Triplett, Bonnie Mathis, Gordon Triplett.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry (David) Million.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy (Tiffany) Bivens, Joseph Murphy, Amber (Chris) Cooper, Rachel (Collin Garwick) Million, Austin (Dixie) Million.

She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Sophie Bivens, Brayleigh Tallent, Cody Million, Bri (Hugo) Castillo, Takoda (Kodi) Barrett, Christian (Brooklyn) Cooper, Richie Cooper, Zoe Cooper, Chancen Murphy, Jaylen Hooper, Willow Garwick, Kaydee Paul, Lacey Guffey; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Keith Kile officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 2 p.m. (EST), prior to the service.

She will be laid to rest in Meigs County Memorial Gardens, following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Austin Million, Collin Garwick, Charles Harvey, Christian Cooper, Chris Cooper, Chancen Murphy, and Eric Paul.

Carolyn Sue Letner, age 73, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

She was a daughter of the late Johnny and Annie Letner. She dedicated her life to serving her community and the Lord.. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of many. She was a committed EMT for Meigs County and Monroe County, where she served with distinction and compassion. Her dedication to helping others was a defining feature of her life.

In addition to her professional commitments, Carolyn had a passion for creating beautiful floral arrangements and enjoyed entertaining friends and family with her love of music. She found joy in bringing people together and giving back to her community, embodying a life of service and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Letner Wolf; brother, Ricky Letner.

She is survived by the love of her life, Tim Clark; daughters, Karen (Paul) DeLude, Kelly (Rusty) Waller; grandchildren, John Phillip (Jessica) Waller, Erica (Jose) Hayes, Teddy "Alex" (Victoria) Argue; several great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; siblings, Peggy Letner Brooks, Tim (Gaye) Letner; brother-in-law, Darrell Clark; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026 in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Lawrence Waller and the Rev. Gregory Gilliam officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in the Roberts Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., prior to the service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family via venmo (-DeLude).
