2025: A Year of Beautiful Births 💜💛
What an incredible honor it has been to walk alongside families this year! Here's a glimpse at our 2025 journey:
✨ 36 Primary Births - 36 families welcomed their babies with strength, courage, and the support of the midwifery model of care
👶 16 Boys & 20 Girls - Each one a precious gift
🌟 15 First-Time Mamas - I am so incredibly proud of these mothers! 42% of my clients this year were experiencing birth for the very first time, and watching them step into motherhood with confidence has been extraordinary. When nearly half of your births are with first-time parents, it tells a story: families are choosing informed care over fear-based narratives. They're seeking out education and support. They're trusting their bodies and reclaiming what birth can be.

🙌 1 Breech Birth - Celebrating the art of physiological breech delivery
🏥 8 Transports - Eight times we honored the process and made informed decisions together for the safest outcomes.
💛 1 Cesarean Birth - Sometimes the best birth is the one where everyone arrives safely. And when that means a cesarean, it takes a special kind of courage to meet that change with strength and love. The mothers who walk that road are deeply brave, and their births deserve to be honored with pride and tenderness.
🤝 12 Births Assisting Sister Midwives - I am so grateful for my sister midwives. Supporting the midwives in my community, and being supported by them in return, is such a beautiful part of this calling.
📚 1 Student Midwife - It has been one of my greatest joys this year to watch student midwives step into this calling with curiosity, skill, and so much heart.
Every single birth story matters. Every mother's strength deserves to be celebrated. Every baby's arrival is a miracle, no matter how they come earthside.
For so many of these mothers, choosing midwifery care meant stepping away from the only story about birth they'd ever heard. It meant asking questions, doing research, and believing in a different possibility. Guiding families through that journey, supporting them, protecting their peace, earning their trust, and watching their strength unfold beside their babies will forever remain one of the greatest honors of my career.
Thank you to the families who trusted us with your most important moments, and to my sister midwives who welcomed me into their birth spaces. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve you all.
Here's to another year of supporting informed choices, celebrating ALL births, and honoring the incredible power of mothers! 🌸

This straightforward first birth sets this Mumma up for her future births which are all more likely to be uncomplicated straightforward births as her first birth was uncomplicated and spontaneous

What does that mean?

It means we keep you nourished, moving, and using gravity and position changes to support labor naturally.

For comfort, we offer the shower, birth tub, movement, and calm reassurance instead of medication.

We delay cord clamping until it stops pulsating—unless there’s a medical need—and always with your consent.

We honor the golden hour with immediate, uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact.

Newborn medications are your choice—we offer information, not pressure.

We allow the placenta to release on its own, waiting patiently if needed.

And we encourage you to learn about birth, so you can make informed, confident choices.

I need friends, family, and clients to not just read, but please help me and take action! What’s happening is a targeted attack—a modern-day witch hunt—and a dangerous step toward dismantling the profession of Certified Professional Midwifery. It’s imperative that you understand that midwifery in Texas is at stake, if not for you, for me and for my daughters and your daughters and granddaughters.

URGENT ACTION REQUESTED BY The Association of Texas Midwives
House Bill 4553 has officially been set for a hearing in the House Public Health Committee on April 28 at 8:00 A.M. in Room E2.030 at the Capitol.
House Bill 4553 threatens the autonomy of our profession under the guise of data collection. While framed as a neutral reporting bill, HB 4553 lays the groundwork for invasive oversight, misrepresentation of outcomes, and the further medicalization of midwifery care without the context or nuance necessary to accurately represent our clients or our work.
We need every midwife, student, client, and supporter to contact the public health committee and urge them to oppose HB 4553

Texas midwives are already held to high standards of safety and accountability. This bill duplicates existing reporting, imposes burdensome new rules, threatens privacy, and undermines informed choice in birth.
I respectfully urge you to oppose HB 4553 and support true solutions that protect safe birthing options across our state.
