Today, we celebrated our SIU Decatur Family Medicine Residency Class of 2025 graduates with their formal ceremony.

Our graduates shared their journeys in medicine, with speeches that gave many laughs and a few tears. We are honored to have folks from around North America make their way to Decatur, Illinois to celebrate the final formal education each of our resident receives before entering a career of lifelong learning.

There are not enough words to express our appreciation for Dr. Parker and all the hard work and care he has dedicated to this program - so we got him a Packers football instead!

Huge thanks goes to Erica Miller-Spears, PA-C and Dr. Tanner Eiben, faculty of the and Sports Medicine Fellowship for traveling to Decatur to do a Splinting /.Casting workshop with our residents. Thank you to our Quincy colleagues for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our residents.

Dr. Rami Elmasry, MD, DC, faculty, presents our Medical Student Rotation model to fellow family medicine faculty at the National Conference in Salt Lake City. We believe medical students that visit our residency should get similar feedback, mentorship, and family medicine experience to our residents while rotating with us. Congratulations to Dr. Elmasry on being accepted and presenting.

Drs. Pooja Sheth-Dutt, MD and Johnny Tenegra, MD also contributed to the development of our current medical student model.
