October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month — a time to gently name the grief so many carry quietly, and to honor the stories often held in silence.

In our latest Building the Village blog, we’re honored to feature Lune Health, founded by midwife Hannah Meurer, who is working to open the first miscarriage clinic in the U.S.

Lune Health is creating something truly needed: a space where families navigating miscarriage receive trauma-informed medical care, mental health support, and room to heal.

The blog also shares more about REBEL, a movement Lune launched this month to reimagine miscarriage care — with compassion and community at its center.

Early parenthood comes with so many questions — especially around development.

That’s why we’re thrilled to feature Katherine from Little B Therapy in our Building the Village blog series. As a pediatric physical therapist and mom of three, Katherine brings in-home care, motor milestone classes, and compassionate parent coaching to families across Atlanta.

Whether it’s improving tummy time, supporting feeding or movement, or simply helping you feel more confident in your child’s progress — Little B Therapy meets families where they are, both physically and emotionally.

It really does take a village.
We’re proud to introduce our new blog series: Building the Village — a space to highlight local providers offering thoughtful, wholehearted support to new and expecting parents.

Our first feature is ATL Pelvic Health, founded by pelvic floor therapist Katie Moise, PT, DPT. Katie and her team specialize in helping clients heal after birth, manage pain with intimacy, prepare for birth, and feel more at home in their bodies — through every stage of the parenting journey.

Their care is personalized, integrative, and deeply supportive — the kind of village-building work we’re honored to uplift.

🌿 We’re excited to introduce our associate therapist, Lindsay Dodgen, APC, who is now welcoming new clients at Aspen Grove Counseling & Wellness!

Lindsay offers therapy in person in Decatur and virtually across Georgia, with evening and limited weekend availability. Her style is calm and steady, creating a supportive space where clients feel understood while also gently challenged to grow.

She especially enjoys working with women navigating anxiety, perfectionism, motherhood, or a loved one’s recovery, as well as with couples facing communication struggles, codependency, recovery, or major life changes. Lindsay also integrates mind–body practices to help clients recognize how stress shows up physically and emotionally, creating more space for healing.

🌿 We’re excited to welcome our graduate intern, Kateryna Sovshchak, to Aspen Grove Counseling & Wellness!

Kateryna offers therapy in person at our Decatur office and virtually throughout Georgia at a reduced rate. She brings warmth, care, and even humor into sessions, integrating both psychodynamic and somatic approaches. With couples, she often draws from Gottman and EFT to strengthen communication and closeness.

She especially enjoys supporting clients in the perinatal period—both individuals and couples—as they navigate identity shifts, relationship changes, and the transition into parenthood. Kateryna is bilingual (English/Russian) and her work is supported through ongoing clinical supervision with our director, Jaime Filler, LMFT, PMH-C.

✨ If you or someone you know is looking for accessible, thoughtful therapy, we’d love for you to connect with Kateryna. You can learn more and reach out at www.decaturgacounseling.com or call us at 770-954-5476.

You’re proud of them. You know they’re ready. But that doesn’t mean your heart feels steady.

This season brings more than just a goodbye, it brings a quiet, personal reckoning.

There’s pride, yes. But also emptiness.
The house feels different. Your role feels… unclear.
Even the rhythm of your days begins to shift.

For many parents, launching a teen or young adult stirs up emotions that are hard to name -- and even harder to talk about.

This blog explores what it means to let go without losing yourself.
To honor both the love and the grief.
To find support during a transition that changes everyone.

✨ We’re so excited to be returning to Babies & Bumps ATL this year! ✨

On Saturday, August 3rd, we’ll be at .and.bumps alongside an incredible lineup of local providers, doulas, educators, and resources for new and soon-to-be parents.

Whether you’re expecting your first or growing your family, this is such a thoughtful, connection-filled event — and we’d love for you to stop by and say hi!

💬 Jaime will also be giving a seminar on maternal mental health — a conversation close to our hearts at Aspen Grove. We’ll talk about the emotional realities of new parenthood and why support isn’t just helpful, it’s essential.

If you’re in the Atlanta area and navigating the wild, beautiful, overwhelming early seasons of parenthood — come find your people. We’ll be there with care, information, and encouragement.

📍We’ll be at The Hotel at Avalon on August 3rd from 11AM to 4PM!

You love your child.
And still… this is not the version of parenting you imagined.

Maybe you expected more joy.
More connection.
More of yourself in the mix.

Instead, it’s lonelier. Heavier.
And you wonder — silently — “Is it supposed to feel like this?”

This post isn’t about blame or fixing.
It’s about naming the quiet grief that can arise when reality doesn’t match the vision you held.

You’re not broken. You’re not ungrateful.
You’re human — and deserving of support in the swirl.

You love your child. That’s never been the question.

But somewhere along the way, this version of parenthood stopped feeling like the one you were prepared for.

You imagined joy. Closeness. Maybe even some sense of fulfillment.

Instead, it’s different — not always bad, but heavier. More complicated.
And sometimes quietly disappointing.

When the reality of parenting doesn’t match the vision you carried — whether in the day-to-day or the deeper emotional landscape — it can stir up grief, guilt, resentment, and shame.

Not because you don’t love your child. But because you do — and this still feels so different than what you hoped.

This blog explores that emotional dissonance. The parts of parenthood we don’t always name out loud. And how therapy can support you in holding the complexity with care.
