"Phlegm" is inherently sinister. It is the coagulation of fluids that should be life-giving but instead become unavailable to the body, and eclipse the mind, and therefore the heart.

Try eating sour gummy worms or something else sour (lemons, etc) when you're feeling overwhelmed and like you want to tear someone's head off. It helps!

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?" -MLK. Always moved that he framed life in these terms. So simple and straightforward and to think this question motivated him to do such great things. I wonder what great things I might do if I asked myself this everyday.

Visited MLK memorial (again) today. Such incredible courage. The small steps that everyday people took that culminated in monumental historical change. Gives me some perspective. We have so far to go but have also come so far. Justice isn't earned easily but you can't visit that memorial and be so cynical about what is possible. Always a good reminder for me.

A new study shows that acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome). PCOS is one of the leading reasons why women seek acupuncture in my practice for help getting pregnant. Typically women diagnosed with PCOS have very infrequent and irregular periods. They therefore don't know when they ovulate or don't ovulate at all. Here's the article. http://bit.ly/aPSt3H

"The Heart is a Lonely Hunter"- by Carson McCullers is my all time favorite book title. Chinese Medicine talks about the Heart as being the place where are spirit resides and what motivates us to connect to others. But I think Carson said it best.
