It’s officially December and the words we keep hearing from everyone are:

✨Exhaustion

There is a palpable collective weariness in the air.

Our hearts beg for rest, while our bodies do their best to keep going.

December feels different this year. And this Atlanta weather isn’t helping.

If you’re local, we welcome you for a brief reprieve with a peaceful sound bath. No need to talk, nothing will be expected of you. We have 8 left this month, including 2 this week.

✨Our Advent Spiral Ceremony is this Friday evening. A silent space for peace and reflection. A time to be in community with no expectations or small talk.

We are collecting food donations for the Food Pantry run by NETWorks Cooperative Ministry in Tucker, GA.

What is the Food Pantry?

“The food pantry provides food assistance for neighbors experiencing a crisis or unexpected difficult time.

It is intended to provide 1-2 days worth of food. Neighbors can come multiple times a month to receive an order of groceries based upon size of the household.”

This is an incredible organization helping support our local community.

Please see the next slide for a list of needed items. You may drop off during shop hours or when attending an event or private session.

We will collect items through December 14th.

10 days left til the last 31 days of 2025.

We are open normal hours this week.

Next week, the shop is closed Thursday AND Friday (we don’t do the Black Friday thang) and will reopen Saturday the 29th for our wonderful Small Business Saturday Sale and Community Care Day (more deets to come).

We will then be open 5 days a week in December for more holiday shopping.

We have so many wonderful items for gift-giving, and it’s not all rocks!

Here’s a random post for tonight.

One of my guilty pleasures/fun way to spend an evening is to peruse www.newspapers.com. It’s glorious. Oh the rabbit holes I have enjoyed.

Anywho, here’s an ad from 1961 from what I think was the first business to occupy our building. It’s the only information I’ve been able to find so far. One of these days I’ll make it over to the county archives to investigate more.

Point of the Day: Lung 9: Very Great Abyss (Great Vortex)

✨As we are now fully immersed in autumn, it is seasonally appropriate for feelings of grief, longing, and nostalgia to be even more forefront than usual. Fall is the season of letting go, but it is also the season of grief and reflection. Grief has many flavors. It can be bittersweet and light. It can be heavy and heart-breaking. It may even be future-grief, a longing for something that may never be.

✨I am hearing from so many that even with the weight of grief, there is also a feeling of ungroundedness (is that even a word?), a feeling of floating around even with the feeling of a weight on our chests.

✨One of the (many) things I have learned and loved about Chinese medicine that is just as one thing can be the true, the opposite can also be true. And this applies to point energetics as well.

✨Lung 9 (being what is known as a earth point on a metal meridian), can bring anchoring and stability when we feel like our chest just might fly away. And at the same time, it can also lift up heaviness when we feel like the weight on our chest makes is hard to breathe. As what is known as a source point to the lungs, it can self-regulate and offer support in however your body needs in the moment. It can also help settle our breath, inviting in more presence and calm, and is also known as a great point for “bringing order to chaos.”

✨On a more physical level, it can help strengthen our lungs, cleari phlegm, and ease coughing.

✨You may gently press or simply think about this point, if you are in need of its support. It is pretty easy to find, as it is located (on both sides), just under the thumb, in the wrist crease-you may even feel a slight divot (see picture above). And remember what I often say, “points are small, but intentions are huge.” Don’t overthink trying to find it :)
