Seasons Change…
Nearing the end of October 2020, I was presented with an opportunity to create my own brand of herbal remedies. I had been crafting remedies for friends and family for some time, which led to wanting to buy them and distribute them in their herbery.
Without any background in business or graphic design, this was a daunting undertaking to do on my own. Soon, I joined forces with my dear friend Olivia and to bring Frida Liv to life. On day one we committed to a one-year partnership of trying this out to see what we thought.
This past year has been loads of fun– creating new formulas, perfecting existing ones, teaching classes, and most importantly, deepening our relationships with the plants, our Selves, and with each other. This year prompted great change. We both left Minneapolis — moving to separate states — to reconnect with the Earth and to live with the land. And in October, Olivia’s daughter Anella was born.
Over the winter we took a little pause as we adjusted to our new routines. We used the time to create a curriculum for our upcoming beginner herbalist series, to deepen our herbal studies, and to meditate on where our herbal journeys were calling us next. A bittersweet conclusion approached us– it was time for seasons to change once more.
Frida Liv will no longer be a partnership of Olivia and me (Frida).
We will continue to teach classes together, forage and create medicine, and of course, we will continue to mentor one another on our herbal journeys. However, the Frida Liv product line will now be solely my endeavor.
Olivia has played an enormous role in my herbal journey, and the development of Frida Liv. I cannot adequately express how grateful I am for this experience together, and for the personal healing that has taken place with this amazing mama by my side.
I am so excited to continue using the name Frida Liv to honor our roots as Frida and Liv.
May the coming season deepen our relationships with each other, our Selves, and most importantly, our herb friends. May our hearts be open to listening and receiving, as our herbal allies teach us and guide us all to be Frida Liv.
