Go-getter, multitasker; giving 110% to your cause, your family and doing it all running on reserve or empty? I worked 24/7, sometimes long nights and early mornings and I loved it! I had great energy. I was drinking protein shakes, eating my fruits and vegetable and exercising. I thought I was fit and healthy. Then I met my husband in '07 and he was on the other end of the spectrum. He was not just on a healthy path he was also on a holistic path. His way of living was completely different from my so-called healthy life. Which he was happy to point out! I was actually running on reserved. I never intentionally took time to rejuvenate, to cleanse, to meditate; time for me and my body. My "healthy food was filled with sugar and junk, not to mention the toxins in my body products, deodorant and toothpaste! This is how my journey into holistic health began. My intention and goal with Holistic Self Care are to share with you ideas, and insight on being healthy; with simple recipes that won't leave you feeling deprived, and easy and simple protocol to follow.

The chai spices are a staple in my pantry. I especially like adding turmeric to my mix. I also like adding coconut oil that I lightly saute the spices in, then add hot water (very carefully, the oil will splatter) Bring to a boil then simmer 10 mins. Add coconut milk and sweetener. My way is a sort of 'long cut' way! :) No matter the way you make your chai, the benefits are so deliciously worth it!

I have taken this time to have long walks and eating nutrient-dense foods. lots of salads, broth, soups flavored with lots of garlic and herbs. Ginger and green teas to support digestion and built my immune system. Hope this video helps you to find ways to support yourself this stressful time.

For most of my teens, I had very painful PMS issues and was told by my Doctor that it was normal and finally resort to the pills for relief. (In hindsight, it was not the best course of action). Through my studies in nutrition, I now have a painless and regular cycle. I am a fan of Alisa Vitti and uses her MyFlo app. to Cycle-Sync all areas of my life with my cycle. Powerful. A painful cycle is not normal.
