🌬️ Wind Storm Coming – Are You Ready If the Power Goes Out?

They’re predicting wind gusts up to 65 MPH overnight, and around here that can sometimes mean power outages. It got me thinking about the times we’ve lost power in the past and how important it is to be prepared before it happens.

Tonight I shared a quick video showing one of our Blackout Boxes and a simple preparedness tip: don’t store batteries inside your flashlights long-term. They can corrode and leak, and when you really need that flashlight… it may not work. 😬

We keep extra batteries stored safely (I like using a battery organizer) and keep a Blackout Box ready so we’re not scrambling in the dark.

Aloha! Farwest Farms is owned by Scott & Joan Haney. Scott is retired military and Joan is a Massage Therapist and Instructor in Hawaiian Lomilomi. Farwest Farms has owned up to 28 horses for summer camps, riding lessons, trail rides and also owned some nice drill team horses... and was home to the amazing bare back, bridleless drill team called Farwest Ba****ck Riders. We retired the team about 7 years ago. (Joan misses the girls and parents and would love to start up another drill team... stay tuned). Currently raise organic hay, chickens and fish. Working on creating a successful Aquaponics system to raise fish and fresh veggies. And plan to get horses in the near future... Mahalo nui loa!
