Next Step Transition Center
Next Step offers day habilitation services to individuals 18 years or older. Next Step is dedicated to providing individuals with developmental disabilities a structured program that includes social, educational, vocational and recreational activities. Community based outings provide individuals integration in the community through activities such as bowling, movies, Wa
l-Mart, Miller Outdoor Theatre, restaurants, and many others. Next step offers classes giving the individuals the independence to choose their interests. Class offerings include art, music, theatre arts, and cooking. Individuals participate in daily life skills activities that include personal care, communication, organizational skills, vocational skills, time management, money, and functional reading. Skills are taught and reinforced through differentiated activities and games. Rec and leisure time allows for group interaction and socialization. Next Step also provides program management for HCS and TxHmL waivers.
