Hi, my lovely friends and clients!

I just wanted to quickly come on here this morning to let you know that my phone is not working. I am waiting for the AT&T store to open in a few hours so I can either get it fixed or get a new phone. I have no idea how long this will take.

Placenta drop offs and scheduling are on pause at the moment due to this issue. I will update this post once my phone is up and running again. It's always stressful when you are a birth professional and your phone stops working! Thank you for your patience while I figure this hiccup out!

If you need to reach me in an emergency, please email me at welcomingwavesbirthservices@gmail.com. I will be in and out of the office today checking emails.

Your Doula and Placenta Specialist,
Kristin Watts

A local mama that I’ve become close with over the last 8 months has lost her son. Her baby, Ocean, had a traumatic birth injury during a c-section. She was connected with me through some local resources and I’ve been part of her support system ever since.

Yaminah lived in the hospital for the last 7 months with her sweet baby. She has shown such strength and courage as she navigated life as a medical mama. She showed up for Ocean every moment of every day. She pumped for him, celebrated his tiny milestones (like when he grasped a rattle!!!), and advocated day in and day out to make sure he got the care he desperately needed. She fought so hard for him. I am so proud of her and I’m eternally grateful that she is in my life.

Yaminah is currently in the thick of grieving baby Ocean. She is also actively trying to get back on her feet. She is the owner of an INCREDIBLE food truck and she needs to get her truck fixed in order for her to re-amp her business and get herself financially caught back up.

Life threw some of the toughest curveballs at her, but she never lost hope. She truly is such a beautiful person, inside and out, and I’m lucky to call her my friend. If you could help out by sharing this GoFundMe or donating even a dollar, it would help out tremendously.

Baby Ocean, may you rest in absolute peace and harmony. You will be forever missed on earth. We’ll take care of your mama 🫶🏻 I promise.

Today, a mom that I love and adore, was just informed that her baby no longer has a heartbeat. She is 18 weeks pregnant.

As mothers, one of the hardest and most soul crushing experiences in life is losing a child that was so deeply wanted. Being held by our community is the only thing that keeps many of us above water.

I want to make it exeptionally clear to everyone, especially for those who do not know, that this mother will be laboring and delivering her baby and will be experiencing postpartum, just like a full term pregnancy. She will have medical bills, she will need postpartum and birth supplies, she will need to eat and feed her family of five, she will need to make and pay for cremation/burial arrangements for her baby, and she will need time and support while she is grieving the loss of her sweet baby.

As she navigates this journey, she has come to me for help and support. She is not local to me and I’m doing my best to help her virtually.

I’m reaching out to the masses and I’m trying to gather funds in order to help her pay for groceries for her family, birth and postpartum supplies, cremation/burial costs, medical bills, and anything else that she might need while she travels down this road of heartbreak.

As many of you know, I started supporting families while they grieve the loss of their pregnancies and children after the loss of my daughter, Isla. I call this section of my business, “Waves of Grief.” I do all of this work by donation ONLY. I do not charge grieving families for this support. Your donation means the world to me and your past donations have helped me love and support more than TWO HUNDRED grieving families over the last three years.

If you’d like to be part of my mission, please send your donations through Venmo -manfredonia.

I’m just a mother who gets it. I’m a mother who has been there, who has seen the lack of support and the dire need for connection and community, and decided to try my best to make a change and bridge that gap.

This is me with my own daughter, admiring my sweet doula baby, who was born this past week. When I tell you that my clients become my friends, I mean that wholeheartedly. I love and adore her mama, , and I am honored that I got the opportunity to walk with her on this journey. I’ll forever cherish our friendship and I’m grateful to have her in my community! She’s strong, brave, kind, compassionate, and an INCREDIBLE mother who fiercely loves her little babies.

This was most definitely a birth story for the books! I even got to work with my OWN midwife, of ! How beautiful is that?! 🥺💕

I say it daily, but I’ll say it again- I absolutely love my career.

The full moon brought me a precipitous birth, a broken phone, and my automatic van doors doing wonky things 😵‍💫🤣 When I tell you I was STRESSED, I say it with my whole chest lol.

It is an honor and a privilege to do what I do and I don’t take even a moment of it for granted 🥲🫶🏻

I spent Christmas Eve surrounded by some of my most favorite people, holding space as one of my fellow Swifties delivered her first baby - a SURPRISE boy!

Haley, you are such a light in this world and I love you so much. I’m so honored that you chose me to walk with you in your journey. I’ll forever cherish our friendship and I am so grateful to have you and your family in my life. What a journey you went on, bringing that sweet boy into this world! YOU did that! I was just there to simply cheer you on and remind you of your power (with a couple and birthy tricks up my sleeve, of course 😉💫). I am so proud of you and Zach. You surrendered to labor and it brought you a beautiful and empowering experience!

What also helped is the fact that you had THE BEST birth team. I absolutely adored working alongside and of . I was taken back by their knowledge and skills and the fact they they were SO HANDS OFF! That’s an incredible thing. It’s pretty rare to find a hospital and a provider that understands and trusts the physiological birthing process and knows when to step in and when to sit on their hands. I can’t wait to work with these beautiful midwives and L&D nurses again.

I’m STILL riding that secondhand birth high from this experience. Haley, your birth was beautiful and I can’t WAIT to do it again with you.
