She treats patients of all ages, including children (pediatric dermatology). Dr. Adams specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. She has a special interest in melanoma and is an expert in the use of dermoscopy for diagnosis of abnormal pigmented lesions (moles). Dr. Adams treats a variety of dermat
ology conditions, including atypical or dysplastic moles, acne, warts, eczema and other rashes, and psoriasis. Originally from Virginia, Dr. Adams moved to Chicago in 1996 to begin her undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago. She graduated with honors in 2000, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Dr. Adams attended the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, and graduated in 2005. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Evanston Hospital, where she was recognized as the "Intern of the Year." In 2006, Dr. Adams relocated to Detroit, Michigan to begin her Dermatology training at the prestigious Henry Ford Health System. She completed her Dermatology residency in June, 2009, and received her board certification in August, 2009.
